It’s going to be a total clusterfuck tomorrow like it was for the first games of last season. Massive queues at the turnstiles with shot not working or people not prepared for it, I expect.
Tbh there is no real reason to move on from what they had last season, aside from having more control over what can be done by punters with their own tickets that they have paid for.

You'll still get a printed boarding card if you check your bags in the "classic" style - and you can still ask for one at the counter.
I must admit, though, I'm finding "everything" on the phone a step I'm reluctant to take personally, despite having worked in and with mobile phones virtually since their inception and have long been aware of the way things are moving.
Personally, I think a fan needs to "opt in" to having their tickets on their phone, rather than "opt out" for a physical version, but, not having experienced either (at the O/S), am probably not the best person to judge.

Odd comment about plan tickets? But I still prefer to print out a boarding card, then you you've got it, no surprises. I don't fully trust electric gadgets like phones, not sure why people do. At checkin, a lot of people have paper still.

I don't think those not wanting to access by phone need get involved in conversations about paranoia and Big Brother and everything. Many just find it easier to have a card and shouldn't need to explain why. It's about choice. For the record, I've printed mine off as usual.

When was the last time you rocked up at check-in for a flight? Fucked if I can remember when - probably 20 years ago, maybe more.
Probably a piece of piss to add this functionality to an Oyster Card - every OS entrance being a virtual station.
If you're over 60 in London, you get a free Oyster card, anyway, so no additional cost there, and if you don't live in London, you probably need an Oyster Card to get to the O/S in the first place.

I think the last 5 or 6 gigs I have gone to recently the tickets have always been on the phone… just got tickets for England v South Africa in the Autumn Internationals and they are on my phone… can’t think of the last time I had a paper one… so I suppose the club is just following suit is this shit digital world we live in??

When you sign up for a season ticket you signed up to be filmed overtime to attend, to be searched, to have a card with all you detail on to say you are valid to enter.......why the paranoia now, hen they are looking to put it on a phone?
You're already profiled and have been for decades now as soon as they got you a seat number.....a regular place they know you will likely be on a certain day.....with cameras everywhere to confirm.....
